There are 3 categories of enneatypes, based on the emotions that are stronger: Body Types, Heart Types, and Head Types.
Have a strong emotional intelligence navigate the world and understand everything else. They react with emotions first, rationality second. Heart types are empathetic, and feelings guide their actions. The most valuable things for them are recognition, inclusion, and support. These are the types number Two, Three, and Four.
Twos want to be helpful, they want to be liked by others and they will give more than what they would take.
Success and being admired by others are central aspects of what motivates them. These types are very aware of their public image. Failure is their biggest fear.
Uniqueness and authenticity are the based on the type four personalities. They tend to be withdrawn and are always thinking of ways that they are different from others.
They rely on their intellectual intelligence to make sense of the world. The analysis comes first for these personality types. Head types focus on control, maintaining stability, security, and competence. They fear experiencing strong emotions and they are more comfortable with data than with other people. These are the types Five, Six, and Seven.
Number five long for understanding and knowledge. Data is more appealing to them than human relationships. They fear being overwhelmed by emotions and they always need stability.
What preoccupied the most sixes is security, They need safety so they can be prepared for problems and ready to solve them. Being under-prepared is their biggest fear, is no danger that they fear but not being able to fight it.
These personality types like having fun. They are adventurous and get easily bored. Emotional pain is a big fear for them, especially sadness. Being busy is how they cope with emotions.
Have a strong gut. They based their decisions on their instincts. Their comfort lies in their physical being. Body types need to have control, they don't like influences and long for maintaining their independence. These are types Eight Nine and One.
Eight type personalities have a strong sense of themselves as powerful. They are advocates of what they believe in and are willing to fight for it. Power is key to these types of personalities and losing it is their biggest fear. They feel powerful by controlling their environment.
Nine types are like a leaf in the wind. They go with the flow, they usually don't have strong opinions and let other people set the tone for them. The peacemakers fear speaking their minds too loud. And driving people away by being opinionated. They are perceived as passive.
